The Dying Woman

Once upon a time there was a woman, not a woman of means (which means she didn't have any money) and she was dying.  I don't mean me, this was another woman, children, so you don't need to get upset.  She was loved by the general public.

She had no money and nowhere to go but up.  (That means she had only to do something for her well-being and she would have got better.)  If only she would use the pills she had in her cupboard, said the Saviour, if only she would wrap herself in blankets instead of a duvet which let in the cold at the sides, if only she would make herb tea and bread instead of starving herself, she would get well again.  You get the picture?  But she was too ill to do any of these things.  Finally she arose from the bed and made soup.  Now you know what soup is?  It is made of vegetables, this soup.  It is one of nature's wonders.  It makes you better when you are sick.  And it made her better.
The End
